Welsh Farm Cottages and Farm Houses

Making the right choiceA few things to consider before you book.

All the cottages listed on this web site clearly state whether they are on a working farm or smallholding, or if they are purely a farm building converted into a holiday cottage. In the later case, you are opting to stay in a characterful converted farm building.

All the working farms listed are small farms. They can also be quite remote and depending on the time of the year, access via some of the farm tracks will be more suited to a 4X4!
Please read the property details carefully, they will tell you exactly what type of farm it is and more importantly, what animals they have on it.
Don't hesitate to contact one of our friendly staff on 01239 881 397 if you have any queries about any of the holiday properties.

A quiet life?

If you opt for a working farm, it is exactly that - a workplace. Tractors go back and forth, cows are herded in for early morning milking. Sometimes, quiet it is not! On the other hand, you can normally join in with life on the farm and for many of our guests, this is the whole point of the exercise - a totally different lifestyle.

A word of caution though. Young children love life on a farm - so many new places to explore. However, where there is machinery, there is danger. Whilst staying on a working farm you should be ever watchful of younger children and go through basic safety guidelines with older ones.

Where?

Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire is a very small County. So if you stay on an inland farm, you can be in Tenby or St Davids within half an hour's drive. You will also have the advantage of quieter roads, even in the high season, so you can travel freely around the county without the congestion that occurs around the popular resorts. There are lots of things to see and do in Pembrokeshire and most are listed here

Carmarthenshire

Carmarthenshire is rightly called the "Garden of Wales" because it hosts the National Botanic Gardens and Aberglasney. However, what is not so well known is its spectular coastline with places like Laugharne and Llansteffan and one of the largest beaches in Wales - Cwmsidan The Teify valley has many little beautiful towns and villages - you can see coracle racing in the Summer at Cenarth. There are lots of things to see and do in Carmarthenshire and most are listed here

Ceredigion/Cardiganshire

Ceredigian has some of the prettiest and least crowded beaches - places like Mwnt, Penbryn, Llangrannog & Tresaith. The new coastal path gives you the opportunity to see the Dolphins and seals from close hand. The North and East is quite mountainous and provides a very different type of vista - Strata Florida Abbey is set amongst these hills There are lots of things to see and do in Ceredigion and most are listed here
